Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Mission: The Galilee Baptist Church Youth and Young Adult Ministry will effectively meet the needs of children, youth, and young adults through God’s love.

Vision: The Galilee Baptist Church Youth and Young Adult Ministry exists to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family, teach them God’s Word, and equip them for their ministries in order to honor God with their lives.

5 Pillars of the Youth and Young Adult Ministries:

1. Worship
2. Evangelism
3. Ministry
4. Fellowship
5. Discipleship

Our Tribes

Tribe of Samuel - Ages 0 - 10 (Children's Ministry) at the very young age of 2 to 3, Samuel served the Lord in the temple, while Eli was the high priest. God honored his devotion so much that He spoke to Samuel around the age of 6. It is our desire that our children would develop a strong, close relationship with the Lord like Samuel. (1 Samuel 1, 3)

Tribe of David - Ages 11 - 18 (Youth Ministry) as a young man, probably in his teens, David killed a lion and a bear through the power of God to protect the sheep under his care. David's confidence in the Lord was so great that He killed Goliath with a slingshot and a stone through the power of God before the presence of the Israelite and Philistine armies. It is our desire to empower our youth to be soldiers for the Lord and have great faith like David. (1 Samuel 17)

Tribe of Judah Ages 19 - 40 (Youth Adult Ministry) Often associated with praise, the tribe of Judah is about giving praise to our great and mighty God. As the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ is our example for living a victorious life as children of the Lord.  It is our desire that our young adults are empowered to represent Jesus in their lifestyles 24-7. (Genesis 29:35Romans 2:29Hebrews 13:15)

Tribe of Elijah - Ages 41 and up - Elijah, a mighty prophet of the Lord, was a great man of faith, who even defied the prophets of Bail. Elijah prayed that no rain would fall on the land for a number of years, and then, he called for the Lord to bring fire from the sky! Before he left the earth on chariots of fire, he left his mantle to the prophet Elisha, whom Elijah gave a double portion of his anointing. Children, youth, and young adults need the support of the more seasoned saints, who can share lessons and experiences of their past and present as well as encouragement, thus passing down their mantles to younger generations (1 Kings 17, 2 Kings 2).

Youth and Young Adult Ministry Activities Include:

  • Youth Bible Study - Offered every Monday as a part of Family Bible Study. Youth gain an understanding of the Bible through reading and discussion. Classes start at 7:30 p.m. and last for approximately one hour.
  • Kindred Vessels - A dance ministry that allows youth to interpret and express gospel lyrics through unspoken word, body language and gestures.
  • Perfected Praise Children's Dance Ministry - A dance ministry for children up to age 10 who interpret and express music song lyrics through movement.
  • Children's Church - Youth are able to worship and study the Bible in classroom settings while their parents are in the regular morning worship service. The information is broken down and explained to them according to their age level and then re-enforced through fun activities such as games, crafts and videos.
  • Youth Retreats - Youth fellowship with other young Christians in an atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth.
  • Young People's Union - A choir that gives youth and young adults an opportunity to magnify God through song.
  • Bible Alive Ministry - A ministry of drama that brings the Bible and Biblical principles to life.
